Mr. Miles has experience in mediating personal injury, insurance, commercial matters, governmental liability, professional liability, products liability, wrongful death, medical negligence, first party insurance matters and real property disputes, among others.

GENERAL LEGAL EXPERIENCE

Mr. Miles is A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a Civil Trial Lawyer since 1988. He has also been Board Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Civil Trial Advocacy. He has both litigated and tried cases in a number of venues throughout the State of Florida and in the Federal Court system. He has also argued before the Fifth District Court of Appeal, State of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals of the United States. In addition, he has represented numerous individuals in mediation, arbitration and summary trial proceedings, both in the State and Federal Courts.

PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS / ASSOCIATIONS

Florida Bar Association; United States District Court; Middle District of Florida; United States Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal; United States Supreme Court; American Board of Trial Advocates (A.B.O.T.A.), with whom has served as President for the Central Florida Chapter. In addition, Mr. Miles has served on three different Grievance Committees, including Chair and Vice-Chair, of the Florida Bar; served on the Board of Trustees of the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association; he has also served as both a member and as Chair of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission of the State of Florida.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES / INTERESTS

Mr. Miles holds a private pilot certificate with instrument rating. He works part time as a Reserve Law Enforcement Officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. He is a Hunter, Safety and Firearms Instructor. He enjoys outdoor sports and the martial arts. He has coached multiple youth sports through the Y.M.C.A. and has served as a Scout Leader.
